Wildland Firefighting

Wildland Fire Crews and Engines When You Need Them

B&B Wildland Fire provides trained, NWCG-qualified firefighters and engines to federal, state and local agencies for wildfire suppression, fire protection and prescribed burns. We hold an active federal VIPR agreement and have worked multiple fires as a firefighting contractor for Washington DNR.

What we do

Qualified Firefighters, Ready to Mobilize

When a fire grows past what an agency’s own crews can cover, contract resources fill the gap. B&B supplies engines staffed with qualified wildland firefighters who check in, take assignments and work under the incident’s command structure alongside agency crews.

Between assignments, the same people run our mitigation, fire cleanup and prescribed burn projects across Eastern Washington and North Idaho. They know the fuels, the terrain and the weather here, and our team brings more than a decade of combined wildland fire experience.

Get fire ready

Be Ready Before the Fire Gets Here

The same firefighters who work the line will come walk your property. Our free Wildfire Mitigation Blueprint shows you how a fire would reach your home, what to fix first, and how to be ready to defend it if one comes your way.

Protection for Specific Assets, and Help With Prescribed Burns

Some property owners, insurance carriers and businesses want dedicated fire resources for a specific home, structure or site during fire season. We can provide qualified engine crews for point protection and standby. Any work near an active fire is coordinated with the agency managing it.

We’re also a registered and certified prescribed burning contractor. We can plan a burn with you, run it from ignition through mop-up, or provide holding resources for a burn you’re leading.

Availability depends on fire activity and our current assignments. The best time to talk is before fire season.

Work the Line With B&B

We’re a small, local crew, and we’re always glad to hear from firefighters who want to work hard and keep learning. Fire season keeps us on assignments, and the rest of the year we’re doing mitigation, fire cleanup and prescribed burns, so there’s work beyond the summer.
